Did you know that you can activate dictation by pressing the function key twice in a row? It works in notes, Word and many places you type text. In fact, I’m using it right now. For even better accuracy, use enhanced dictation. It’s found in system preferences, in the Dictation & Speech pane. With the introduction of Siri in Sierra, this pane goes away.
