After the famous hockey puck mouse, fans thought Apple would never go that dark place again. Then they came out with the Mighty Mouse. The 2005 Mighty Mouse was the first Apple mouse with a touch-sensitive surface plus two buttons. Clicks registered by touching different parts of the mouse, but users struggled to use the mouse the way Apple designed it. Also, the scroll ball was notorious for failing, clogged with desk goo. Since then no Apple mouse has had two buttons.
