With inflation and the cost of living always on the rise, having enough money to survive and thrive is always near the top of everyone’s mind. Most people (especially in North America) have a large amount of things in their home that simply don’t want, need or use anymore. Instead of keeping these items and having them clutter up your house, why not try and sell them? There is likely a market out there for at least some of it and there is a number of different ways to sell it too. Whether you want to physically sell it in the form of a garage sale of sell it online via eBay or a classified site, they are both simple ways to get some extra cash.

2. Sell a Service

Everyone has talents and with the ever evolving online marketplaces out there, there is likely a market for people who would pay you for your talent. Whether your talent is writing, drawing, coding, voice over or a multitude of other things, people out there will pay you for it. There are numerous sites where these services are bought and sold, but a great place to start is Fiverr.

3. Rent out a Room

While this one might not apply for everyone, it is really and truly one of the only ways to actually make money without doing anything. If you have an extra room in your house, you could easily find a tenant to pay you hundreds of dollars a month to stay there, which is a nice chunk of change. Some people even take this to the next level by buying condos, apartments or homes and never actually living in them, just renting them out to others for a profit.

4. Start a Blog

While this one will take a bit of groundwork before you can actually make any money at it, if you keep at it and find a good audience, you can soon make a decent amount of money that could someday even replace your fulltime job. Hundreds of people from all over the world make their living solely off of their websites or blogs, with more and more doing the same each and every day. With the internet explosion, making money through blogging or some other means online has never been easier.

5. Flipping

Now this one takes a bit more work and research than the others, but if done right, it can make you a ton of money quickly. This involves buying a good (doesn’t matter what it is) for cheap and then fixing, repackaging or cleaning it and selling it back at an increased rate for profit. This can be done a lot with things like electronics, cars and even homes.
