Sure, you knew you could hide the dock, but did you know can also hide the menu bar? Navigate to system preferences. Then select general, found in the upper left corner of your preferences. There is a menu item to automate hiding the menu bar. It goes away as soon as you select it. Mouse to where the menu was to summon it.
