Because shifting bike gears is such a complicated affair, the autobike lives. I didn’t make up that name. That’s a brand. You can buy the Autobike today, never needing to shift gears again. Or, you can buy the Shimano XTR M9050 Di2. Like the Autobike, it sports an electrical auto shifter, but with the Shimano name. Why not? Cars have enjoyed automatic transmissions since the 1940’s. We’re almost to the 2020’s, so it’s about time.
