Cars of the future will be lighter. They already are. The new Ford F150 uses military grade aluminum instead of a steel frame. The net result? The F150 shed 700 pounds, has more power and is stronger. A lighter vehicle is more economic, carries a smaller carbon footprint, is less dangerous in an accident. The success of the new F150 being any indication, the future of cars is lighter and lighter. If they didn’t already parallel park themselves, you could simply shove cars of the future into a parking spot.
