Smart Buildings
Forget smart homes, what about smart skyscrapers. Tomorrow’s smart sky scrapers will do so much more than turn on lights from the other side of the planet. They’ll control emissions, absorb carbon, even create oxygen and cool cities. In fact, some already do. One Central Park in Sydney, Australia, aims to be the world’s largest vertical green terrace. A Japanese company, Nikken, inspired by traditional Japanese methods for cooling the air, designed a facade which will cool cities. This is just the tip of the iceberg. In the (near) future, buildings have to be more than just architecturally interesting. They have to save the planet.
