Say AI in the wrong company and you may get a few raised eyebrows. You may get trampled with predictions of doom. It’s true, we don’t know what to expect. We don’t even know if AI is possible. There are many layers of machine learning, some of which we already appreciate. An easy example is Watson, IBM’s supercomputer. Watson is able to consider information to make calculated decisions. Watson gets smarter over time, but that is nothing like what we hope to create. In the future, the predictably near future based on the accelerated speed of technology, AI will laugh at Watson. Future AI will not only be as smart as we are, but will be capable of being smarter.
