Most everybody who know Apple knows about the hockey puck mouse. For that reason, it usually bears the epithet of “famous,” as a cautionary tale. This is another case where Apple’s design standards tripped their product function. A first of its kind ever, the USB puck came with G3 iMacs sold at the time. It was difficult to use, small and awkward. The cord was too short. Designers, the primary audience of Apple at the time, hated it. Everybody hated it. Apple is lucky they ever sold another mouse again. (We’re getting the Mighty Mouse, don’t worry.)
