Imagine you’re at the mall. You’ve been standing in the window of a store for a ten minutes, checking out their display. A notification from your phone indicates a discount offer for the very display item you’re staring at. You’ve just experienced a beacon. They can do so much more, like informing you when the next bus will arrive, tell you what’s the name of the painting you’re staring at or turn on the lights for you. Beacons bring the internet experience into the real world.
