We may finally see a breakthrough in battery technology, with batteries that stay charged twice as long, are thinner, safer and rechargeable. Created by grads from MIT, the company SolidEnergy Systems use an ion-rich lithium metal foil. More ions mean more energy. This means batteries can shrink by 50% or current battery sizes can last twice as long. With Apple axing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7, Bluetooth headphone manufacturers will sigh with relief.
