Quantum Encryption
We may not yet have quantum computers, but we now have a chip providing uncrackable encryption to your most sensitive data. It’s small enough to fit in your smartphone. It’s fast enough to encrypt large amounts of streaming data, like video. Researchers at The Institute of Photonic Sciences designed the chip. We can break current encryption with access to certain data, but with quantum encryption, only the owner can access what’s encrypted. While no commercial chip yet exists, we can think of some wealthy companies [Ahem, Apple?] who might pay top dollar for such technology.
