While at first, that may sound like some new kind of smart food, it’s not. Computer chips installed in the brain could restore movement functionality to former quadriplegics. In fact, they already have done this in lab trials. Reported by the BBC, a man from Ohio, Ian Burkhart, had a chip installed in his brain that rewires his connection to his hands. The chip was so successful, Burkhart was able to use his fingers with almost normal dexterity after six years without movement. The next step is to get the technology approved by the FDA and crammed into some gray matter.
